On the Deerfield River in Shelburne Falls, more than 50 glacial potholes—some no more than six inches across, some almost 40 feet across—dot the former riverbed. There is no direct access to the potholes, but they can be viewed from the end of Deerfield Avenue, just below the hydroelectric dam in Shelburne Falls.
