Stony Ledge is a bare rock outcropping offering dramatic views of the Greylock Massif, the Hopper Valley and north into Vermont. The view from Stony Ledge is an impressive sight, looking over to the Mount Greylock Summit, more than a mile away, and down about 1,000 feet to the Hopper valley floor—an aspect described as “seeing the mountain from the mountain.” Stony Ledge is accessed from the byway only by foot or bike along Sperry Road, an easy distance of four miles round-trip.

Please note: The Mount Greylock Scenic Byway is closed to vehicles from mid-October through June. Hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are still permitted.
