The Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley has been operating continuously since 1906. It is the second oldest bowling alley in North America. The Shelburne Falls Messenger wrote on July 24, 1907, “C.W. Ward’s new Arcade garden will be opened to the public on Saturday night of this week.” The article noted that at least one vaudeville attraction would be presented each week, with a dancing party or two on other evenings as well as musical attractions every night. The article noted that the arcade had bowling alleys and a soda fountain. Today, the Bowling Alley operates daily, offering candlepin bowling and a lively lounge.
