Ever since the Mohawk Trail was opened from Charlemont to North Adams on October 22, 1914, there has been a building on the famous Hairpin Turn to accommodate travelers with souvenirs, food and drink. The Golden Eagle Restaurant has been offering casual dining here, with a panoramic view of Adams, North Adams, Clarksburg and Williamstown, since 1958. Stop for lunch or dinner, or to take in the view through the quarter-operated spotting scopes in the parking area.
