The 818-acre George L. Darey Housatonic Valley Wildlife Management Area is located in the towns of Lenox, Lee and Pittsfield. There is parking for the area that is accessible from New Lenox Road in Lenox.  The Housatonic River flows through the area from north to south.  The area is home to waterfowl, aquatic furbearers, woodcock, deer, bear, and numerous nongame species associated with the lowland habitat. Additionally, the area is stocked with pheasant during the upland bird hunting season.
