Located within the towns of Hubbardston, Barre, Oakham and Rutland, the Barre Falls Dam and Recreation Area offers canoeing, bike riding, picnicking, hunting, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, horseshoes, volleyball and wildlife observation. A highly rated 18-hold disc golf course has great water views, and the Midstate Hiking Trail traverses the park, which is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
